The application sector building automation (facility and building automation) is characterized by heterogeneous system structure. Wide arrays of different technical fields and systems of different manufacturers have to be converged with a uniform user interface and across property lines on a neutral platform.

The critical advantage of FIS^#Facility is the ability to connect the most different of systems. This challenge is solved with the comprehensive reservoir of communication protocols.

The convergence of the different technical fields and systems enables the user to technically manage the fields and systems centrally. Consumption data, operational data and error messages converge in a data base. The heterogeneous system structure can be efficiently monitored, controlled and operated. Continuous maintenance concepts and strategic system planning ensure effective and sustainable system operation. Information stored in the database is made available to ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and CAFM systems (Computer Aided Facility Management) and are used within the framework of incidental cost calculations, ordering, maintenance and strategic company planning etc.
