Sewage treatment plant and water works

The project contains the complete automation and data communication of sewage disposal plants and drinking water supply plants as well as their visualization, operation and logging.

Here automation systems of the Siemens make (S7- 200, S7-300 and S7-400) are applied that are networked with the two servers via Profibus, MPIbus and radio transmission (time slot procedure). As visualization interface a redundant WINCCcontrol system with six operator stations was used.
The customer's benefits from this project are:

servers were not installed in a central location, but separated in the water works and sewage treatment plant (approx. 1,4 km)
data communication and data alignment is carried out via light wave conductor cables
data from the outstations are charged with the timestamp of the incoming messages and sorted in the databases of the system in the correct sequence
unlimited number of computers can access, a restriction is only imposed with regard to the number of simultaneous connections

Ideal solution for the automation

The project contains the complete connection of the automation of the sewage treatment plant (Siemens S5- 135U and Siemens S7-300/400) to the visual display system via Ethernet network as well as the communication to the exterior buildings by analog respectively digital dial connection and radio. As visual display system a redundant WINCC with 7 workplaces was realized.

The customer can benefit from this project due to the usage of modular systems future enlargements in the control center and also in the exterior buildings are possible without additional expenses in the stock.

The alerts are selected so that the responsible readiness staff can be notified well directed. So the staff is able to log on the control center with a notebook via GSM.
